Shipping Terms:
Orders usually ship within 2 business days.
Shipping matrix charges are based on books (together with all packing materials) weighing 2.0 pounds or less (or, where appropriate, fitting into a flat rate envelope). If your book order is heavier than 2.0 pounds or/and bulky/oversized or/and totals more than US$50, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. (NB: Abebooks has set some of its shipping matrix maximum amounts unrealistically low for orders to be shipped outside the US, especially for the standard shipping option, which may also result in requests for extra shipping).
Shipping charges (especially for non-US based customers) in part reflect the various policies and fees that Abebooks mandates from its dealers. (Consequently, and at a minimum, all orders must qualify to be shipped via an insurable and/or trackable class of mail).
Please note that in late April 2008 Abebooks more than doubled the percentage of the shipping charge, including any adjustments, that it keeps for itself rather than passing on the full amount it collects from you to me. [This is in addition to the other listing and item transaction fees that it was already charging me].
In May 2007 the USPS did away with all surface mailing options, and also reclassified and substantially raised the rates of its air options, for orders to be shipped outside of the United States, with planned periodic increases thereafter.
