The author was joint owner of the Stone Gallery in Newcastle, which actively promoted Lowry`s work in his later years, and spent a great deal of time with him. This biography reveals a complicated and sometimes difficult character. Dustwrapper sound and clean but the spine is rather sunned leaving only the title legible. No sign on the outside but the inside of the wrapper spine is rather dampstained at the head ; there is light staining to the inside foot of the spine which just faintly shows on the outside.
