 I used pencil sketches and my computer to create rough, moody sketches for each illustration. Early on, I thought using a black border around the art would add to the moodiness.

 Then I made clean, final sketches using just my computer.

 For the final art, I created tight drawings with pencil on paper, and scanned them into my computer where I added the finishing touches.

About the Author:
Aaron Reynolds is a New York Times bestselling author and has written many highly acclaimed books for kids, including Here Comes Destructosaurus!, Carnivores, and the Caldecott Honor–winning book Creepy Carrots! He regularly makes time to visit schools where his hilarious hands-on presentations keep kids spellbound.
