About the Author:
Nelson was born in Illinois. He attended 17 schools to finish high school. He became a call boy at age 15, working through exclusive agencies in New York, Hollywood, Mexico City, Rome, and Paris. He attended Berkley University for a short time, then seemed to fit 10 lifetimes into one.
IAN WRIGHT taught uncritically for many years before seeing the light of critical thinking. Now, as professor of Social Studies Education at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, he strives to teach critically himself and to help his students do so in their own classroom. Ian is a founding member of The National Council for Excellence in Teaching Critical Thinking, and a frenquent presenter at conferences on social studies education.
