About the Author:
Abbie Farwell Brown (1881-1927) was born in Boston to a "blue-blooded" family whose American roots dated back to the Mayflower. After studying at Radcliffe, she went on to author such beloved books as The Lonesomest Doll, The Christmas Angel, The Heart of New England, and The Silver Stairs. She was considered to be one of the most successful writers of children's prose and poetry for the early twentieth century.
