"The notion that marriage is a huge (scary) leap of faith, that the person we agree to say 'I do' to is a stranger (no matter how much we try to tell ourselves otherwise)...is carried to the extreme in THE DANGEROUS HUSBAND. The extreme is sometimes hilarious as set forth by Dennis' wife, a woman struggling to maintain calm and sanity in the face of large odds....The problem...is that it's a one-joke story told and told again. Indeed, hearing about Dennis' latest atrocity--burning the coffee, singeing the cat, causing the maid to quit--becomes more exasperating to the reader than it ever could have been to his wife."
