Review:
"A balance among theory, data, and application that takes the reader from 'what is known' to 'what it means' to 'how can you use it.'"
"In describing Aamodt's book to a colleague, I would have to say that it's the best I/O textbook I have seen, and I have taught this course for over twenty years. Aamodt injects a hefty degree of humor without trivializing the content which increases student interest...Aamodt's I/O psychology textbook is definitely a book that I will adopt for the future. The book is well written. It does an excellent job of integrating the applied areas of I/O psychology with theory and research. The exercises, in addition to helping students acquire skills that can be used in the workplace, also help students learn about themselves. This combined self-development enhances student appeal and promotes greater student interest in the subject matter. The well-organized, clearly written format, with an ample injection of humor makes this textbook the best I/O psychology textbook on the market that I have ever seen."
"I like Aamodt because of the applied exercises. I take a hands-on approach to all my classes and this is particularly relevant in I/O psychology, which is the application of psychological theory and principles to the world of work. Your test bank is one of the better item banks in terms of quality of the items.""I would describe Aamodt's book as very "user-friendly." It is a text that students enjoy reading. Aamodt writes in a friendly manner using numerous examples from his own experiences that enrich and clarify they presentation of theories and concepts from I/O psychology. I especially like the numerous applied exercises for students as I believe that "doing" enables them to understand the concepts better and promotes a feeling of mastery and ownership."
"I use Aamodt's text because the exercises at the end of the chapters force students to read the text daily in order to complete and hand in the homework...I led the way to switch to Aamodt because we are a cost conscious college and...Aamodt's text combines the text with a student workbook for one price. A very nice feature." "The major strengths of Aamodt include: soft cover book with tear out pages, exercises at the ends of the chapters for application of knowledge, clearly labeled exhibits and tables, clearly visible corner labels for exercise pages for easy location."
"The writing style is conversational and often coveys enthusiasm for the subject matter. The chapter opening objectives, summaries, and employment profiles work well."
