The text is illustrated with black-and-white photography and colour photography taken by Roderick Hulsbergen. Black coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine. Rubbing to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and bumping to the book corners. The book is slightly cocked. Previous owner's names to the verso of the free front endpaper. There has been rubbing and handling marks along with some creasing to the first few pages of the book. The text itself is clean, white and tight. Photographic dustwrapper, again by Roderick Hulsbergen, with white writing on the front panel and the spine. Rubbing and chipping to the head of the backstrip and rubbing to the lower edge. There has been a small tear to the top edge of the rear dustwrapper panel and creasing to the front dustwrapper panel. Rubbing to the lower dustwrapper edge along with the dustwrapper corners. This 1971 book was an attempt of the writers to examine the aboriginal people and their situation in the wake of social conscience being awoken, of white Australia to the indigenous inhabitants.
