Every year, millions of dogs, cats, rabbits, and other animals across the United States are looking for homes. Many of them never make it out of the city and county shelters alive.

Eldad and Audrey Hagar, two animal lovers from opposite sides of the globe, found each other in Los Angeles, and for the past six years have been on a mission to save animals from cruelty and neglect. Thus far, they have opened their home to more than two-hundred dogs (and a few other species) in need of immediate foster care, as well as saving endangered homeless dogs off the streets.

Once you see the dog on the cover and in the book, you will say, Our Hearts Have Gone To The Dogs . The book began with their stories. Audrey was a native of California who lived and slept with the family dog. Eldad was born in Northern Israel who brought home every homeless and sick animal he saw. Today, as a married couple, they share their love of the helpless animal be it on the street or on a death row cage in a shelter. They rehabilitate them and find them suitable homes. The photographs are Valentines to anyone who has loved or loves a dog. On page 23 The two dogs are Fifi and Heidi. Who wouldn t love those two? Not every animal is a dog, there is Junior, the owl, who now resides in the California Wildlife Center. On page 37, like an Eliza of My Fair Lady is Taz(Before) when he was in the shelter and on page 38 Taz(After). He now lives in Lake Tahoe, enjoying the good life and making someone s life a better life. If you are a cat lover, look no further than page 42 and the photos and story of Linde, who Eldad saved in the nick of time. Seems shelters can t afford to sustain homeless kittens.
