Soft Covers. Condition: VG. No Jacket. Photos, Maps, Plans (illustrator). 1st. Head north from Brisbane, at Rockhampton turn left, head west for 700 kms and the Morella district is reached. Go a little further and another 700 ks will attain the border with the Northern Territory. Morella has never been more than a small settlement, a railway stop with only a few residentrs. However, it is the centre for a vast pastoral area of more than 5000 square kms and here Jeanne Mins has correlated its history back to the 1870s, gathering together contributions recording events, anecdotes, details and personalities of all the major holdings in the district to complete a remarkable local history, considering the extent of the territory it covers. Living, existing, and producing on this land was never easy and many stories of hardship and struggle to survive are recorded, together with the successes, the achievements and the unique outback lifestyle. 162 pages, b/w photos throughout, four maps/plans. Card covers VG with small adhesion scar top front corner where circular sticker removed, ink initials/date top corner title page, text block otherwise excellent, A stamp lower corner title page captions the front cover colour photograph "One of the Best Memories- Rain.".
