Lonely at her new high school, Dorry finds a group of students who like her and want her as a friend. She discovers that they belong to a religious group "The Fishers of Men." As Dorry grows to love the joyous rapture of this religion--so unlike the church in which she grew up--she becomes increasingly wary of the escalating demands made of her.
