About the Author:
Peter Carey was born in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria and now lives in New York. He is the author of twelve previous novels, three short story collections and two books on travel. Among other prizes, he has won the Booker Prize twice, the Commonwealth Writers Prize twice and the Miles Franklin Literary Award three times.

Sam is a very clever youngster, and it doesn't take him long to figure out how to turn the situation into the solution he was hoping to find. Along the way there are plenty of laughs and surprises and an ending that pulls it all together. This is a breezy contemporary adventure with a touch of fantasy.
