From the Back Cover:
“I knew when I was interviewed by Carol Guber that she would write an excellent book. She sought deep understanding of the problems of type 2 diabetes mellitus. This is a wonderful personal excursion through the disease process but with all the material patients need to manage their disease and avoid complications.”
–Gerald Bernstein, M.D., F.A.C.P., former president of the American Diabetes Association
“This is a book that should be read by anyone who has type 2 diabetes. The author does not pull any punches: She tells it like it is, but then she shares helpful suggestions to aid in achieving a quality of life in spite of having diabetes.”
–Diana W. Guthrie, Ph.D., F.A.A.N., C.D.E., author of Alternative and Complementary Diabetes Care
“Carol Guber is in full charge as she takes care and feels better living with diabetes. Carol's story is motivating, authoritative, and humorous enough to inform and comfort either a novice or veteran of type 2 diabetes. Her book is a straightforward reminder of how to be inclusive in managing this chronic disease–planning for a lifetime of health, connecting with others, and pampering as medicine. An important book for a health problem in need of lifelong management.”
–Sharron Dalton, Ph.D., R.D., director, Graduate Program in Nutrition, NYU and author of Overweight and Weight Management
“Carol Guber is an all-in-one support system: teacher, friend, role model, food critic and cook! Her lovely meal plans will inspire you to lead the healthiest life imaginable.”
