Brown is Curator of Medieval and Illuminated Manuscripts at the British Library and the author of a number of books including The Book of Cerne: Prayer, Patronage and Power in Ninth-Century England (1996). She also is a Lay Canon of St Paul's Cathedral.Carol A. Farr is Tutor at the Mary Ward Centre, Queen Square, London. She is the author of The Book of Kells: Its Function and Audience (1997).
