In the introduction, Jerry says they do the retreats because `we want ot help the church find new ways to enflesh its message of love.' (They identify 4 types of love.) The retreat of Kirkridge was built in 1942 by John Oliver Nelson. A Shalom (be fulfilled) Retreat involves self-disclosure as to emotional experiences. Participants are asked to get in touch with PAIN, JOY, ANGER, FEAR, LOVE, etc. The authors operate from a Christian small group psychotherapy perspective . 191 pages, UNillus. but with some tabular data -as to results measurements. LAST two pages are BIBLIO. Cond : Boards are ecru with orange spine lettering. D.J. is reddy-orange with a front cover graphic of two sets of fingertips reaching toward each other. Lettering is white on face and black on spine. Volume is bright, tight and CLEAN in all respects. No names, marks, creases nor tears. D.J. is black-marked but not price-clipped. D.J. has light chips or crinkles - esp. at top fore corners and spine top and tail. All wear is minimal. Colours bright, no tears, attractive. Giftable !!
