God's Church will prevail and prosper, even as we enter into the unknown of a new millennium that promises more hostility than ever toward believers in Christ. This inspirational new book shows how the Church has prospered through the ages in the face of cultural change, internal disputes and political persecution. But rather than a dry history lesson, this is a scintillating tale of international intrigue, miraculous intervention, courage, tragedy, martyrdom and ultimate triumph-an epic adventure told with warmth, humor and suspense. Featuring the men and women who lived and died to preserve and spread the gospel to every nation, this is a glorious testament to the continual supernatural working of the hand of God in human affairs, culminating with what God is now doing around the world.

From the Back Cover:
How God Saved Civilization is an epic introduction to the men and women who lived and died to bring the gospel to every nation--a centuries-spanning, panoramic portrayal of international intrigue, miraculous intervention, courage, tragedy, martyrdom and ultimate triumph. Dr. James L. Garlow takes a mountain-view look at God's behind-the-scenes work through the ages--and His eternal faithfulness to His Church. Despite the uncertainty of our times, as God's people walk into a new millennium, Garlow shows that God's Church is, indeed, alive and well.
