From School Library Journal:
Grade 4-6-Krystal provides lively one-page profiles of a historical range of artists, from Greek sculptor Phidias (490?-430 B.C.) through pop artist Andy Warhol (1930?-1987). Entries focus on the individuals' biographical, social, and political backgrounds, rather than reviews of their work. The arrangement is chronological, but an alphabetical listing also appears in the table of contents. Students should find this book easy to use and especially handy for ready reference. Accompanying each entry is a sketch or often-grainy, black-and-white photograph of the individual, but there are no representative illustrations of the artists' work.
