Includes the Minjambuta of Mount Buffalo and the Ovens River; the Ngarigo of Monaro; the Walgulu of the Bogong Mountains; the Djilamatang of the Murray River headwaters; The Duduroa of the upper Murray; and the Ngunawal of the central Murrumbidgee region. The second half of the book summarises archaeological evidence, describing rock paintings, ceremonial grounds, artefacts, settlement patterns and excavated sites of occupation. The latter include Cloggs Cave in eastern Victoria where the author discovered 17000 year old traces of human habitation along with the remains of extinct giant kangaroos. Size: 8vo.
