Grade 3-6 Excellent color photography shows a variety of farm equipment, including tractors, plows, combines, and carrot pickers. There is also a good variety of makes and models. The short history and comparison of old and new tractors is interesting. The brief text simply describes the photo on each page. Unfamiliar terms are printed in boldface type and are explained in the text as well as in a glossary. Some terms are regional in nature, as are two statements that are somewhat misleading. However, these do not detract from the overall quality of the book, which should be a priority purchase. This is a book that won't take root on the shelf.
