Editorial Reviews for this title:
A unique work of reference for succulent enthusiasts and collectors. The dictionary is organized alphabetically by species. Each entry includes a full description of the species, as well as the place of origin. Commonly used alternative names are given, and these are also listed separately for convenient cross-reference. In addition, the introduction summarizes the characteristics of the families and genera.Published at $39.95 Our last copies available at $19.98
Many of the succulent genera-Agave, Haworthia, Kalanchoe, & Yucca, for example-include some of the best-known & most often cultivated house plants, & few plants of any kind can compete with Lithops for sheer weirdness. The Preston-Mafhams' book on cacti concentrates on the globular cacti, particularly Mammillaria, but includes some popular columnar forms such as Echinocereus. Both books represent truly remarkable values.
