Synopsis

Doc Ericson has just started a llama farm, north of Peabody, Wisconsin, and he asks Penny, Jack, and Scruggs to help out. As soon as they get there, however, strange things begin to happen. Who let the llamas run loose? Is somebody trying to make trouble for Doc Ericson and his llamas? And what about that telescope they discovered? Could it be watching them?

When Jean arrives on the scene, Penny and Jack aren't at all sure they want their shy little sister hanging around. But Scruggs has some surprising things to say about that, and they end up working together as a team to solve the mystery.

Jeri Massi has worked as an English teacher, writer, and editor. She has written many stories and books for young people. She learned her llama lore while working at Saluda Farms in South Carolina. According to Miss Massi, the llamas observed her as much as she observed them, but they have not offered any opinions on their conclusions.

The Peabody Series, named for the imaginary town of Peabody, Wisconsin, is an adventure series for Christian students in middle school or junior high. The books center on a group of young people who attend the same local church. Each novel presents a new adventure as told by one of the members of the youth group.
