Since the late 1990s, Susan Morland has been making paintings in which the expressionist techniques of her earlier work have been augmented with a ¿bio-painterly¿ approach incorporating elements of cell shapes, proteins, enzymes, and the chaotic effects created by paint falling, being thrown or sprayed. The central figure appearing throughout the work is the human figure, in constant movement, like a soloist being whirled through a giant world-scale dance. Bookseller Inventory # 500004
