Easy to use, the 16 chapters are divided by subject and include music, guides, legislation, state publications, foreign publications with title translations, view books, salesmen's samples, and world's congresses. Entries are consecutively numbered and completely indexed by author and title. An interesting chapter of unpublished works found during the authors' extensive research is catagorized by source library or collection. The book contains a tipped-in foldout map of the Jackson Park fairgrounds and a flowchart detailing the organization of the Columbian Exposition Company and Columbian Commission.

A supplemental volume of additions to this bibliography was published by the authors in 1999 [ISBN 0-9631612-4-5].

About the Author:

G. L. Dybwad, PhD, and Joy V. Bliss, MD, JD, visited numerous key libraries and private collections for visual confirmation of World's Columbian Exposition holdings. Theirs was the first major bibliography of any world's fair. By seeing items, many publishing variants were discovered and described and errors in cataloging corrected. They thoroughly enjoy the research aspect of writing. Dybwad has been a serious student and collector of world's fair memorabilia and history for over 30 years.
