Review:
"I like the approach. The author effectively lays out a structure for dealing with major concepts and themes as applied to the individual country case studies...His brief treatment of country history (political development) and attention given to political culture is especially appreciated. His treatment of major features of the political structure and processes is sufficiently to-the-point yet also adequately detailed...I appreciate pretty much all aspects of this text. I have used it a number of times previously in comparative government courses, and it is been quite well received by our American government students who have come to appreciate the value of a comparative approach."

"The strength of the book is its clear prose...The approach is solid; I like the case studies and the breakdown into different typologies (liberal democracies, etc.)."
