From Library Journal:
Link ( The Complete Executive's Encyclopedia of Accounting, Investing, Banking, and Economics , Probus Pub., 1989) aims his work at the professional who needs definitions of general business and economic terms. Some British and Candian definitions are included among the 2500 short entries. Link's one strength is the many definitions for U.S. government economic legislation for the past 35 years. Except for a number of economic formulas, the definitions are general--perhaps too general for a book of this price. The MIT Dictionary of Modern Economics (MIT Pr., 1986. 3d ed.) is far better in this regard, and, as a $15.95 paperback, cheaper. Similarly, Link also suffers in comparison with other good, recent dictionaries like Christine Ammer and Dean J. Ammer's Dictionary of Business and Economics (Free Pr., 1986. rev. ed.) and John Terry's Dictionary for Business and Finance ( LJ 4/1/89). With better, larger, and less expensive works readily available, this work is not recommended.
