We dog companions are lucky people, aren't we? Not only do we get all this love & loyalty, fun & games, we get to see and do things dog-less people can't imagine. Our world is better, our lives happier, thanks to our dogs.
Now you can share a new experience with your dog. Everyone likes talking to their dog, but sometimes you run out of things to say--or you feel a bit shy. So make it easy--read your dog a story written just for them, complete with their own name and favorite words. Each story ends with a treat, game or other fun activity.
You'll find settling down together to read a Tales for Dogs story is rewarding for you and your dog. Make it part of your daily routine and be prepared for head tilting, questioning looks, smiles, kisses and great memories in the making.
Before you begin - please take a moment to personalize this story for your dog. Write his (or her) name in the spaces left open so that your dog knows you're talking to him (or her).
If you don't stop for tummy tickles or cuddles, this story will take around 5 to 10 minutes to read.
Remember, dogs tune in to our tone of voice, so they'll love it even more if you read to them in an animated way.
These and all Tales for Dogs stories have been tested and approved by Piper dog.

It's story time!
Do you want a story?
Are you ready? This is a story about a precious dog. Yes, PRECIOUS, just like you! Now, this other precious dog lived in a luxurious apartment in New York City.
What kind of dog was he?
He was not just precious, he was a Chihuahua. Chihuahuas are very small dogs
who have no idea how small they are.
And they have big, brave hearts. Do you want to know the kind of life this precious dog had?
Well, let me tell you.
His routine was this: he'd wake his person (a woman who smelled real good) whenever he felt like it in the morning by covering her face in in kisses.
She liked that.
Do you like kisses?
They would have big kisses and cuddles for a long time before they got out of bed. Eventually, when this precious dog felt like it, he'd just look his person in the eye and she would know it was time he had something yum-yum to eat.
He ate the finest steak, the bestest fish, fancy treats from the pet store, bones-- lots of bones--which he liked to pick at, and YOUR favorite.
His person would tuck him under her arm and take him everywhere she went--theatres, supermarkets, the movies, malls, parks, even on dates--everywhere!
He loved it.
Would you like that? Yes, you would!
One day this precious dog became even more precious to his person (I know you might think that's impossible).
They were walking down Fifth Avenue when suddenly, just as Precious Dog was kissing his person's cheek and smiling, a bad man grabbed his person's purse and ran off. Well, Precious
qlDog was not happy!
