The book measures 12 x 11.25 inches and contains 27 tritone plates in 72 pages. This volume was published to accompany the simultaneous exhibitions of Penn's photographs at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. It features an introduction by Anne Wilkes Tucker, curator at the MOFA Houston, and an essay by Sylvia Wolf, curator at the Whitney. The book was designed by Penn himself.
