The entertaining lark in this picture book is the fact that each sentence rhymes: Tuck your vest in, Iestyn, Oh my gosh, Josh! Blow your nose, Rose. A day at school or kindergarten (it isnt clear which but is useful for both) is full of activity and fun. Iestyn has a super time with his friends, and there is just enough rude vigour for kids of four to six to have fits of giggles over Chanelle and her smell. The in-your-face brightness of Carpenters illustrations and their interesting perspectives will appeal tremendously too. The expressions on her round-faced children are a treat, and there is plenty of detail to enjoy. The combination of Morden and Carpenter is to be mightily encouraged.
