One of the classics when it comes to tales of great adventure and a warrior trying to defeat all the obstacles that are put in his path is the Odyssey by Homer. The Odyssey takes you on a journey of one man who is fighting to get back to his wife and son before his people make her marry one of them.
Homer has Odysseus travel as he is a forceful leader of a boat. He leaves his arrows behind to his son. While he is on this journey and tries to come home, he gets lost. Meanwhile back at home, the men that serve him are pressing his wife Penelope to marry again. Odysseus is unaware of anything that is happening. The son does not want his mother to marry again, but due to laws, she has no choice.
To stall them she starts weaving a blanket and will not choose who she will marry until it is done. Teaching people across the world for centuries to travel through the steps necessary to get to what really matters. With the deep lesson that is taught, it's no wonder why people of all ages still consider this epic poem a masterpiece.
