From Booklist:
Gr. 5-8. The Business Builders series has a real winner in this energetically written study of Hershey and chocolate, Wrigley and chewing gum, Ben and Jerry and ice cream, and others who make things we love to eat. Aaseng includes descriptions of those who were successful because of marketing (Ellen Gordon and the Tootsie Roll) as well as those who succeeded because of a specific recipe (Krispy Kreme donuts and their sugary aroma). He also makes clear how hard it is to make money, and keep making money, on any product. A few well-chosen sidebars document sweets that don't get a whole chapter. Excellent sources and citations, boxed facts, a lively style, and sometimes mouth-watering pictures finish the package. GraceAnne DeCandido
