About the Author:
Charles Seems was born in Dalhousie, NB (Canada), in September 1952, to an American father and a French-Canadian (Acadian) mother. He graduated from the Universite de Moncton in 1976 where he earned a Bachelor s in Translation & Interpretation. He moved to Ottawa where he taught French as a second language in West Quebec schools. He earned a Certificate of Teaching French as a Second Language from the Universite du Quebec a Hull in 1978 and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa in 1980.
Charles is the author of Collection Turlututu, a collection of 16 (French) phonetic books for primary grades and Collection Parminou, a collection of four bilingual (French-English) books for preschoolers. In 2006, Charles published Drug-Free Arthritis: Secrets to Successful Living. In 2007, he co-authored (with 14 other authors) Leadership Gurus Speak Out.
Charles joined the FPS of Canada in 1981, where he served for 21 years in five departments before leaving to form his own human resources company. He is accredited in Staffing and Classification and has held various human resources positions. In 1989, he received a Deputy Minister Award for his contribution to the EMR Mission Statement Project.
In June 2002, Chares opened HR Spectrum RH, which provides a wide range of services to more than 30 federal government departments. Services include assistance in staffing, staffing recourse, staffing file reviews, staffing investigations, tutoring, coaching, training, course development, policy development, facilitation, career management, preparing for selection processes and report writing.
