"Over the past four years a group of important seventeenth century paintings by Rubens, Cuyp, Murillo and other artists in the collection of Dulwich Picture Gallery have been conserved, with the generous support of the Getty Grant Program. This catalogue outlines the problems faced by the conservators in dealing with the various works, and summarises the solutions found. It includes brief essays by two leading authorities in the field, David Bomford and Herbert Lank. While much of the material is technical, the text will offer much to all those interested in both the past and the future of works of art."
