About the Author:

Martha A. Ojeda worked in the maquiladoras in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas Mexico for 20 years and was the leader of a wildcat strike of Sony workers in Nuevo Laredo in 1994. She completed her studies in law at the Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila and has been Executive Director of the Coalition for Justice in the Maquiladoras since 1996. Rosemary Hennessy is Professor of English and Director of the Center for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality at Rice University, Houston, TX.
