The Weissenhofsiedlung (Weissenhof Estate or settlement) is a housing project that was built specifically for the Deutscher Werkbund exhibition that took place in Stuttgart in 1927. It was an international showcase of what later became known as the International style of modern architecture. The Weissenhofsiedlung included twenty-one buildings comprising sixty dwellings, designed by sixteen European architects such as Mies van der Rohe (who was in charge of the project), Walter Gropius, Le Corbusier, Bruno Taut, Peter Behrens, Ludwig Hilberseimer, Max Taut, Adolf Rading, and others. Profusely illustrated with b/w reproductions of photographs, architectural plans and drawings. Sunning on slipcase. Tight copy with slipcase in very good, dj in near fine, book in fine condition.
