Книга посвящена актуальной теме изучения сложных аэродинамических процессов, протекающих в горных ущельях. Редкая сеть аэрологических наблюдений, ограниченные возможности ее увеличения из-за сложности рельефа даже во время специальных экспедиций, малое количество одновременных наблюдений с наветренной и подветренной сторон горных хребтов, затрудняют выявление кинематики и динамики процессов в атмосфере, что увеличивает роль математического моделирования этих процессов. Проанализированы возможные упрощения исходных трехмерных гидродинамических уравнений, описывающих атмосферные процессы в горном ущелье. При помощи относительно простых двумерных математических моделей исследованы некоторые режимы течения и распространения загрязняющих веществ как в модельных горных ущельях, так и в ущельях Кавказского хребта, расположенных на территории Северной Осетии.
