Book Description: Zurich, Switzerland: Jrp Ringier Kunstverlag Ag, 2008. Soft cover. Book Condition: New. Offered here in AS NEW condition is "Rock Diary," published in 2008 by JRP Ringier. Hedi Slimane's "Rock Diary" consists of three books. This title is offered in AS NEW condition. It is a series of three hardcover books, encased in a cardboard box. Each book has a similar design corresponding to the design on the box, with a large square on the lower half - one in black, one in silver, and one in gold. They contain a combined 224 pages with 200 duotone illustrations and each measures 11.25 x 8.5 inches. The first is a look at the Festival Internacional de Benicássim in Spain, where up-and-coming artists perform over four days. The festival is noted for the incorporation of film, theatre, art, and dance elements, as well as a good deal of interaction by the artists with each other and with fans. The second book is the main project which features Slimane's wonderful photographs of vital rock artists in both America and Europe. Finally, there is a volume filled with insightful essays on Slimane and his work by renowned critics Jon Savage, Alex Needham, Vince Aletti, and Agustín Pérez Rubio. From the Publisher: "In a 2003 conversation with Interview's Ingrid Sischy, Slimane discussed his beginnings as a photographer: 'I started taking pictures before I even began in fashion. I didn't start with clothes until I was 16, but I had my first camera when I was 11. I've always taken pictures, almost like some people take notes or write down their thoughts.' As this collection reveals, Slimane's photographs of the international music scene are as fresh as his paradigm-shifting work in fashion.". Bookseller Inventory # HS-RD-abe
