About the Author:

Prof. Dr. Robert Verpoorte heads the Department of Pharmacognosy at Leiden University, The Netherlands. A well-know figure the field of herbal medicine research, he has authored over 460 research papers and three books. He sspecializes in bioprospecting and isolation of new phytochemicals from plants coupled with rapid identification systems. Being on the editorial board of several scientific publications, he is also the editor of Journal of Ethnopharmacology and Phytochemical Reviews.

Dr. Pulok K Mukherjee obtained his Ph.D in herbal medicine and is a renowned personalty in the firel of herbal medicine. He has to his credit over 100 research papers in various international journals and one patent. He is presently Director, School of Natural Product Studies, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India
