Margaret Mitchell (1900-1949) nacio y murio en Atlanta (EE. UU.), ciudad que influiria en su unica obra, Lo que el viento se llevo, una de las novelas mas populares de la historia de la literatura, que el director Victor Fleming inmortalizaria en la pantalla en 1939, convirtiendola en una de las peliculas mas miticas de la historia del cine. Mitchell estudio en el Smith College y mas tarde trabajo como articulista y redactora del Journal de Atlanta de 1922 a 1926, en que comenzo a escribir su celebre novela, que no finalizaria hasta diez a�os despues.
