With a section of its pages cut in two, so that one can flip through old cave postcards on top or details of the finished artwork on the bottom, this volume contains rich, exhaustive documentation of the project, including historical documents, working drawings, models in progress, close-up details and final artworks, as well as an essay by Germano Celant. The second, slimmer, silver-edged volume presents the "Yellowcake" photographs, which portray the Nigerian Embassy in Rome--famous for "sparking" the United States' 2003 invasion of Iraq. Offered here SEALED under publisher's wraps in AS NEW condition, this is a unique two-volume set published by Fondazione Prada in 2008. These two hardcover books are contained in a simulated leather textured slipcase, stamped in silver with the publisher and Artist's name. "Processo Grottesco" is bound in pictorial boards with an introduction by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli, and text by Germano Celant. It is unpaged and illustrated throughout, with many split pages and one three-page gatefold of the finished "Grotto." "Yellowcake" is bound in the same simulated leather as the slipcase, but is bound at the top, so the silver edges of the pages are seen at the spine of the slipcase. The Nigerian Flag is depicted on the cover. It includes texts by Celant, Carlo Bonini, Alex Farquharson, and Robert Storr. There are 80 pages, illustrated throughout in color. The two books include a combined 469 pages with 392 color illustrations and it measures 10 x 6.25 inches. The volumes are offered together in a slipcase. The first book, "Processo Grottesco," is a detailed photographic document of Demand's "Grotto" installation, which took two years to complete. It was a massive recreation - staged at Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice, June 7 to July 7, 2007 - of a naturally occurring grotto in Majorca, Spain. Most of the pages of the book are split horizontally, with cave postcards shown in the upper half and details of the finished piece in the lower. It also features interesting behind-the-scenes drawings and information.
