Synopsis

Abril rojo is a novel about Peru, its history, its symbols, "the orgy of corruption that inundates the country ", and about the war between the army and the Sendero Luminoso during Fujimori's presidency. This was a war in which Peru was lost, and its population, left in its misery, suffered without understanding. The story develops into a multifaceted plot at an excellent pace where we witness twenty years of brutal violence.

Santiago Roncagliolo (Lima, 1975) es el autor más joven que ha sido galardonado con el Premio Alfaguara. Su anterior novela, Pudor, llamó la atención de la crítica y el público en todo el mundo hispano, se tradujo a varias lenguas y será llevada al cine este año. Además, ha publicado la novela El príncipe de los caimanes y el libro de relatos Crecer es un oficio triste.
