AbeBooks Fees and Charges

 

To list on AbeBooks, booksellers are charged:

  • A monthly subscription fee based on the average number of books online the previous month.
  • A commission fee on all sales through AbeBooks.
  • A payment service fee for all credit card transactions processed through the AbeBooks Payment Service.

Commissions and payment service fees are offset against sales, and on the first Friday of every month, your subscription fees are also offset against sales. Should you owe AbeBooks money, we will charge the credit card you have on file with us.

 

AbeBooks Monthly Subscription Rate Schedule (effective April 28, 2008):

You will be billed at the beginning of each month for that month. The amount charged is based upon your average book count for the previous month. Please keep in mind that if your book count is between 0 and 500 books, your monthly charge will be the minimum monthly fee of $25.00.

For all of the above rates, an unlimited number of Wants can also be added to the AbeBooks system.

 

AbeBooks Commission Fees:

 

An 8% commission fee is applied to all book sales, inclusive of shipping and any extra charges. There is a minimum commission of US$0.50 per book and a maximum commission of US$40.00 per book.

If the shipping amount is reduced at the time of order processing, commission will be calculated on the lesser amount.

If a partial refund is issued, no commission fees will be refunded.

 

AbeBooks Payment Service Fees:

 

For all credit card sales through the AbeBooks.com and AbeBooks.co.uk web sites, a payment service fee of 5.5% is charged to an order maximum of US $500. Orders that exceed US $500 in total value are charged at 5.5% for the first $500, and 3.5% for the remainder of the order ($500.01 and up).

For all credit card sales through the AbeBooks.de,  AbeBooks.fr, AbeBooks.it, and IberLibro.com web sites, the payment service fee is 3.5%.

The minimum fees applied to all orders are US$0.50 for purchases made on AbeBooks.com, and US$0.90 for orders through AbeBooks.co.uk, AbeBooks.de, AbeBooks.fr, AbeBooks.it, and IberLibro.com.
