Putting Your Account on Vacation

You can temporarily remove your inventory from AbeBooks while you're away from your store with a few simple clicks. Putting your account on vacation prevents expired orders and disappointed buyers.

Please be sure to process all outstanding orders before the start date of your vacation.

To put your account on vacation:

  1.  Sign on to your AbeBooks account.

  2.  Click [Put My Books on Vacation] in the 'My Books' section of the Menu.

  3.  Select the date you'd like your inventory removed.

  4.  Select your return date.

  5.  Click the [Schedule Vacation] button.

Please note that you can change your start or return dates from this screen at any time.

Your inventory will be removed on the date you've requested. If you entered a return date, your books will be restored then; otherwise, you can sign on to your account when you return to restore them at that time.

Notes:

  • Subscription: Your monthly subscription is calculated based on your average book count for the month. The fee for 0 books online is US $25.

  • Inquiries: The two-day response policy still applies while your account is on vacation. AbeBooks and customer inquiries, especially in reference to orders and/or outstanding returns, must still be responded to within two days.

To restore your inventory:

  1.  Sign on to your AbeBooks account.

  2.  There will be a large, red Vacation reminder near the top of the Menu - simply click it to restore your inventory.
