Initiating a Return / Refund
You can easily initiate a return or refund from your Members Menu. Please note: The same process can be used when you've accepted an order in error or when initiating a return or refund on behalf of a buyer.
To request a return or refund:
1. [Sign on] to your AbeBooks account. 2. Click [Process your Orders] in the Quick Links menu. 3. Enter the AbeBooks Purchase Order Number and click the [List Orders] button. 4. Click [Request a Refund]. 5. Select the return reason and enter your comments for the buyer. 6. Click [Initiate Return/Refund]. 7. Select whether you'd like to process the refund right away or when you receive the book back from the buyer. 8. Select whether to refund return shipping to the buyer. 9. Click [Confirm] to confirm the return or [Edit Return/Refund] to make changes. An email is sent to both you and the buyer as notification of an initiated return. Your account will be credited for your fees on the order as soon as the return is completed. Make sure to re-list the book for sale!
