Minor surface wear to blue dust jacket only, book itself is like new; clean unmarked tight bright copy; Ships out within 24 hrs with delivery & e-mail confirmations; From the dust jacket: "To those Americans disappointed by the performance of the United Nations, this book gives a startling reply: the UN is performing precisely as programmed and achieving the goals of those who conceived it. How can that be? After all, in the three and a half decades of the UN's existence we have seen increasingly bloody wars and 'police actions,' growing instability, a global epidemic of terrorism, widening hostility to American ideals and a corresponding decline in our influence. As author Robert W. Lee demonstrates, that apparent contradiction is an illusion. The UN charter is not an instrument for peace, but a blueprint for war; the natural function of the UN is not the easing of world tensions, but their exacerbation; and rather than a framework for liberty it is a harness to restrain opposition to tyranny..Robert W. Lee born and raised in Salt Lake City, is a graduate of the University of Utah, and spent a dozen years in Washington, C.D., primarily as a journalist and correspondent for 'The Review Of The News'..and 'American Opinion' magazines.." From the Foreword by Robert W. Lee - "Today the UN is increasingly regarded not as a sacred cow but rather as a troika composed of a white elephant, a Trojan horse and a Judas goat.". Book Description: Albin Michel "Guide Clés", Paris, 2002. Broché-Souple carton.Illustré. Book Condition: Parfait. Bookseller Inventory # 002639

Book Description: Independent Bureau for International Development Issues, The Hague, Geneva, 1981. Paperback. Book Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book Description : 1981, 1st Edition Paperback. The relationship between rich and poor nations is to this day of concern to many nations around the world. The Brandt Commission pulled together the findings of hundreds of research institutes and international organisations from 1977 to 1979. Heartened by clear global commitment they were able to present a synthesis of the research to achieve their aim of suggesting desireable and realistic international development policies that would alleviate economic and social disparities and poverty in the Third World. This volume is a replication of those Brandt Commission papers submitted in 1981. Three parts of the book cover the discrete categories of : the history of developing countries and the impact upon them of international politics and economics; what the likely prospects of developing nations would be on the basis of given assumptions about international measures; how a new international economic order can be achieved. The scope of the findings is wide covering not only monetary and trade policy but also resources, environment, armaments, ecology, population growth, and the migration of skilled and professional classes. 764 pages. Book Condition : Very Good - slight though infrequent wear at some corner edges; small knock to mid right side of front cover; slight sunfading to spine covering which has a midway crease; minor bumping chiefly at foot; very small lower corner tip crease at front cover; hardly any scuffing, and original orange colour is still quite vibrant.
