About this Item

Scarce study of the Gospel of Barnabas, an account of the life of Christ purported to be written by the disciple Barnabas. Two manuscripts of this much-disputed book are known to have existed, one Spanish and one Italian, both dated from the late 16th century. The present work includes the complete text of the Italian manuscript in facsimile, with a French translation and commentary. Large 4to, 598pp. Bound in original yellow printed wrappers, in very good plus condition. Firm binding and crisp, unmarked, interior. No signs of prior ownership. Very light wear to edges, else fine. An invaluable resource, quite scarce in any condition. Bookseller Inventory # 20110217247699
