His work was later translated by Jan Gruteri, a renowned scholar and translator of the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Gruteri's translation of Florus' "Epitome" played a significant role in making Florus' work more accessible to a wider audience beyond the Latin-speaking world. Gruteri's translation not only preserved the essence of Florus' concise style but also helped popularize Roman history among European intellectuals of his time. Bibliopolio Commeliniano refers to a publishing house that was active in the late 16th and early 17th centuries in the Netherlands. It was founded by the Commelin family, a prominent family of printers and publishers based in Amsterdam. The publishing house, led by publishers such as Jan and Caspar Commelin, was known for producing a wide range of scholarly works, including classical texts, historical works, and scientific treatises.
