Erster Band: 1814 p + 526 p + Fold-out plate 1 (across from page 10) entitled Phellandrium Dod. sive Foeniculum Aquaticum Officin. + Fold-out plate 2 (across from page 966) entitled: Alphabetum chimicum et Numerus chimicus. + Fold-out plate 3 (extension of Alphabetum chimicum et Numerus chimicus). Zweiter Band: 1526 p. In fair condition. Full vellum boards normally scuffed at edges and corners. Heads and tails of spines rubbed. Title labels intact & only legible via soiling where gilt lettering should be. Moderate soiling to vellum bindings. Edges of text-blocks painted or speckled red. Scratched out old-hand ink marginalia found on both front paste-downs. Both front end-pages exhibit old-hand ink ownership signatures: "Liber Meus Est. Samuelus Wiestus. . 1817." Volume II's front end-page also includes a doodle (possibly self-portrait?) of the profile view of a man smoking a pipe? Normal toning and foxing throughout both text-blocks. Fold-out plate 2 exhibits loss at top edge - half of approximately 5-6 lines lacking. Bindings remain intact. Please see photos and ask questions, if any, before purchasing. Arthur Conrad Ernsting (1709-1768) was a doctor & pharmacist who practiced in Braunschweig (Brunswick) and Sachsenhagen. He published several scientific papers and was appointed well doctor by the Landgrave (Count) of Hesse-Kassel. The Meyersche Hofbuchhandlung was a bookstore and printing company that was originally located in Lemgo since 1664. From 1710-1800 there were known as Meyersche Buchhandlung (Lemgo). Early Edition.
