Uniformly bound in contemporary full polished calf, boards with gilt double-fillet borders, gilt-decorated spines in six compartments with contrasting red and black morocco title labels, gilt lettering and elaborate decorative tooling, raised bands, gilt turn-ins, and marbled endpapers. All edges marbled. Some light whitish residue to leather A striking example of early 19th-century English craftsmanship elegant, scholarly, and finely preserved. Lightest rubbing to joints and extremities, else near fine; contents clean and crisp with minimal foxing.
