It is SIGNED and has OFFICIAL STAMPS and EMBOSSED SEALS. Text in Spanish. Begins with "LIBERTAD DE ESCLAVA - HABANA" it GRANTS FREEDOM to an INFANT FEMALE SLAVE, born to a SLAVE MOTHER. The text states that the BABY IS BLACK. The document is written on a large sheet of paper folded to make four pages, each page measuring 8.5" x 12.5". The document is written on two pages, the front and back of the first leaf. The paper is watermarked with "MNA". Two official stamps, one in black ink and one blind embossed, are at the top of both the first page and the third (blank) page. The blank embossed stamp / seal on the top of each leaf reads: "ISABEL 2DA P.L.G.D DIOS Y LA CONST REINA DE LAS ESP" (ISABEL II Por La Gracia de Dios y la Constitución de la Monarquía Española, Reina De Las Españas). The ink stamp on the top of each leaf has the date 1864. CONDITION: The folded sheet is almost completely split at the fold, only a couple inches are not split (a light tug would pull the sheets apart); there are some insect holes at the spine and the margins, some edge wear and chipping, a horizontal and vertical fold from where the document was folded at one time. Though the fold is weak, each sheet is sturdy. The handwriting is bright and clear, and the signature bold.
