In very good condition, with very minor wear and rubbing to the edges of the boards. Hinges are tight and boards and text block are securely attached. Small old price inscription on the first flyleaf page. Pages have gilt edges and are free of foxing and significant toning. Please see photos. 1871, 42 pp, 7.5 x 5, cloth. Mary Lucas Hillhouse (1785-1871) was the daughter of James Hillhouse, a Revolutionary War veteran who served almost 20 years between the House of Representatives and the Senate. She was named after her aunt, who had raised her father from a young age. A unique memorial piece that documents her life and work, finely bound and in great condition.
